Salamanca Markets
Just a 5-minute stroll across Parliament Lawns, stand Hobart’s oldest and most history rich buildings in Salamanca Place. The Georgian designed Sandstone warehouses create the perfect backdrop to the colourful, vibrant Markets held every Saturday.
Originally completed in the 1830's, Salamanca Place is dotted with numerous restaurants, cafe's and bars; as well as Art Galleries, Book Stores and Craft Shops. It is also home to the world famous Salamanca Markets, held every Saturday no matter the weather! Rain, hail or Shine, the markets will not be stopped!
Delight your senses with the sights, smells, and sounds of the world famous market that brings thousands of locals and visitors every year. Explore the endless stalls showcasing handmade Jewellery, Crafts, Woodwork, Sweets, a huge range of Tasmanian Produce and so many delicious food produces to try! Enjoy the local entertainment, ranging from comical buskers; acrobatic stunts, to talented performers - there is something to please all tastes!
The Markets are held ever Saturday of the year, from 8:30am to 3pm.
